Women fight for topless rights

SWEDISH women have launched a campaign to fight for the right to go topless on beaches and in swimming pools, saying they have just as much right to go without clothes as men.
Just Breasts ... Swedish women want the same right as men to go topless in public.

Scandinavian feminists were outraged when two women were asked to cover up their breasts by a lifeguard at a public pool near Stockholm, the Daily Mail's Metro.co.uk website reported.

"If women are forced to wear a top, shouldn't men also have to?" said one of the women, 22-year-old Ragnhild Karlsson.

Now women in southern Sweden have set up the Bara Bradiost network, which translates as Just Breasts.

"We want our breasts to be as normal and desexualised as men's, so that we too can pull off our shirts at football matches," said a spokeswoman for the group.

The campaign's strategy has reportedly been a raging success, with members of Just Breasts jumping into swimming pools across the country wearing nothing more than bikini bottoms.

The country's equal opportunities ombudsman will decide whether or not to take up the case on behalf of the women later this month.

Hope this spreads to Australia :)

Whilst this has appeal to me, being a man and all that, it's madness i think. I mean there's a woman over in Saudi Arabia getting flogged/whipped for being gang-raped and feminists are more interested in exposing themselves.

Besides the implications of allowing this sort of thing when it's rolled out to little girls sends shivers up my spine. Pedophiles will have a field day the local beach.

Incidentally, have they considered how well all this will go down with the local jihadis, in a few decades they might experience that flogging the woman is Saudi Arabia will soon get.

I think of it this way MK. It's the direct opposite of wearing a burka going topless at pools, beach etc. As for sex monsters well maybe it should be 18 years and over.

Personally I don't see a problem with it, I find the suxualization of nudity to be offensive... nudity is not equal to sexuality, and it isn't right that males can go topless and females are required to wear a top... some guys have boobs, they aren't required to wear a top so why should females (some of whom barely have boobs) be required to wear a top regardless?

I think women being forced to wear tops, even in such places as these, was a result of the insecurity of self-righteous men who couldn't control their sexual impulses to ogle women's bodies. And they thought that by making women cover parts of their bodies they(the men in question) were sexually infatuated with would cause that problem to go away or make it easier for them to hide their unchecked issues with lust.
