Religious schools too closed

IT'S time for some straight talking: local opposition to the proposed Muslim school in southwest Sydney has nothing to do with fears of increased traffic to the "semi-rural setting" and everything to do with religion, Anita Quigley says.
The two other schools in the Camden area were built in the past decade in the same semi-rural setting without as much as a sigh from locals.
Indeed, Camden High School and Macarthur Anglican School were welcomed and have roughly the same number of students as what the new Muslim school proposes to enrol if the council approves its planning application next month.
The overwhelmingly white Anglo-Saxon residents of Camden simply don’t want Muslims in their neighbourhood. It’s easy to see where they are coming from. Many of them already fled in a massive white flight from the creeping multiculturalism of older Sydney suburbs for their smart new estates.
Now Sydney’s new ethnic landscape is again on their doorstep. And they feel their traditional Australian way of life is threatened once more.

Protests planned against Islamic school
Far-Right groups have anti-police booklets
WHITE supremacists are plotting to use Cronulla riot-style tactics to hijack Australia Day celebrations across Sydney - including a plan to push their racist views at the sacred Anzac Cenotaph at Hyde Park.
The attempt to co-opt the war memorial to create the impression "Hitler is coming to Sydney" has disgusted veterans, with the RSL calling it an appalling slur on the memory of our Diggers.
Other rallies will be held near the scene of the Cronulla riot and in Camden to protest the construction of an Islamic school.
The far-Right groups even promote an online handbook on how to combat police and avoid detection and infiltration when holding such meetings.
