'Police in denial' over Sudanese gang problem
By Richard Kerbaj

IMMIGRATION Minister Kevin Andrews has accused senior police of trying to paper over a serious Sudanese gang problem, but has refused to release evidence to back up claims African migrants were a major crime threat.
Despite Victorian Chief Police Commissioner Christine Nixon said Africans committed just a fraction of crime in the state and were not a problem, but Mr Andrews said anecdotal evidence suggested otherwise.

The Immigration Minister cited "cabinet in confidence" for not releasing a report that he said detailed a serious problem among African refugees.
Announcing a freeze on refugees from troubled nations such as Sudan, Mr Andrews said the inability of Africans to adjust to the Australian lifestyle was a factor in the decision, which was first flagged in The Australian in February.

"The advice on which we made the decision was largely material which was provided in submissions to cabinet and, as you know, cabinet submissions are confidential. But can I say that there was widespread examination of this, including by an interdepartmental committee particularly in relation to the settlement issues."

Mr Andrews said Victorian police had to admit there was a problem with violence among young African migrants.

"I have anecdotal reports from police which indicate that there is a gang culture in Victoria, in some parts, and they are concerned about it," Mr Andrews said.

"It concerns me that, at an official level, this seems to have been played down. But ignoring the problem won't make it go away."

Police might be underplaying the seriousness of gang-related violence and refusing to label it as such in the interest of creating "a perception of community harmony", Mr Andrews said.

"But the reality is that there's evidence that this is occurring," he said.

"The best way to deal with it is to name the problem, for a start. If you don't name the problem, you're not going to adequately be able to deal with it."

Mr Andrews' comments came after Ms Nixon said young African men accounted for less than 1per cent of the state's crime statistics and did not present a major difficulty for law enforcement.

Bottle shop owner blames turf battle, not race - Victoria, Aus

A NOBLE Park businessman set upon by a mob of youths says black and white gangs regularly face off on his doorstep.
Geoff Heffernan, who manages a bottle shop opposite the train station, has witnessed weekly explosions of violence outside his shop for the best part of a year.
One day, about six months ago, a group of eight Caucasian youths and eight Sudanese and Pacific Islanders brawled, armed, in the street.

"The Sudanese had a plank of wood and the white guys had a machete, and this was in the middle of the day," he said.
Up to 30 youths would flood his shop at a time, stealing alcohol and becoming violent if he decided they were too intoxicated to be served.
"I've had bottles thrown at me and been punched at," Mr Heffernan said. "We've had employees leave because of it."
On July 28, he was set upon by a drunken man in his shop after refusing his mates service.
Security footage shows the man lunging at him with his bare hands, throwing wild punches at his head.
Police used capsicum spray to subdue the attacker.
Mr Heffernan believes the violence stems from different groups trying to claim public space as their own.

PRIME Minister John Howard yesterday denied his government was racist after it closed the door to African refugees.
Refugee groups accused the Government of playing the race card before an election as Premier John Brumby said African arrivals were welcome in Victoria.
Federal Labor held to its bipartisan stance on refugee quotas, accepting the Government's decision not to take in more African refugees until at least next July.

NEW Zealand police fired their guns 12 times at a snarling rottweiler during a domestic dispute but missed every time, local media reported.
Officers had already tried capsicum spray on the "large, lunging rottweiler" with no effect, the New Zealand Press Assocation said.A 19-year-old man threw an axe, logs and bottles at police who tried to arrest him last night at Porirua, near Wellington, before setting his partner's dog on officers, Inspector John Spence said.
A Comment below-

As a member of a sporting pistol club of many years, I can tell you firing any pistol accurately is no easy matter. Upon arriving at the club one morning for a club shoot, I asked the range officer. "How did all these holes get in the roof of the fifty meter range?" He replied, ‘we had the local police over yesterday for their pistol shooting practice.’
Say no more!!

Dear Fortress, I posted this on Abandon Skip blogspot. I thought it may be of some interest.

Re: Sudanese. My Japanese wife and I have a little bit of a rare insight relatively speaking regards this. We had the good fortune to have a couple of restaurants, one in Albert Park which was wonderful. And one, 'Across 110th Street' or Maribyrnong. Not so good.

We experienced the harsh reality of the insane, criminal, violent, totally reckless, bizarro alien behaviour and attitudes of young male Sudanese up close, and many other colourful ethnic Celebrators’ of Diversity. It was Hell.

Of course, the African business folks were great, productive and decent people. They were victims of this dangerous situation too just like the majority of refugees. People don’t grasp this simple point. Everybody end's up being the victim of PC guff. Well, everybody who can't afford to live somewhere better.

I spoke often to the Police, about how more than a few of these guys just do as they please, basically laughing at Law Enforcement. The Police dreaded attending African domestics as there were no apparent limits on behaviour, no reason and a strange indifference to consequences.

The Chief said that Africans, Middle East 'youth' etc, committed most of the large amount of rapes and assaults etc.

Typically 2 of these guys or more see quite commonly a white girl walking by and just attack her. Crazy stuff, but of course this kind of thing just shift's people's 'paradigm' too much. Not a lot of publicity. Surprised, eh? Nope.

I can't remember how many times I had to face these swine down for no apparent reason but their own crazy belligerence.

They often hated Australia for no good reason, white women, Asian women and black women as far as I could tell. We were above the cafe and one NOT that unusual night, around 70 Africans rioted all over a main intersection for most of the night. No Police came.

It was a little like a film starring Rod Taylor on the Mau-Mau, called, 'Dark of the Sun'. So many delightful memories aided and abetted by Christine Nixon's idiot Police directive's and the addled, deluded, heavily Left, pathetically often well meaning, sadly Socialist Cretin Maribyrnong Council.

These twerp's never seemed to think that migrant's and refugees are also the victim's of such concentrated criminality. Aah, it’s almost long enough ago now. Keep on smiling, thinking clearly and ridiculing the bastards responsible for this, disaster.

But mostly a disaster experienced exclusively by the poor, the working and lower middle class, especially small business people. That’s entirely the problem, really. God Bless you fortress. All the best.

Any chance of adding my shabby blog?

Thanks Colonel

I think these youths need to be separated by at least 100km away from each other after all Australia is a big enough place.

I've added your blog with pleasure.

cheers

I think they should be separated from Australia by being sent back to Africa.
