Dark Australia

Australia was the lucky country.

Net filter to block 10,000 sites

AUSTRALIA'S mandatory internet filter is being primed to block 10,000 websites as part of a blacklist of "unwanted" material.

Web Comments:

Any law of this type is abuse of "freedom of speech", pure and simple. We stupidly unlocked a VERY nasty and dangerous Pandora's box when we stupidly brought in laws prosecuting people for the simply "possessing" child porn. AS you can now clearly see, It will not stop there, will with time, spread to X and then R rated material, and finally to basically ANY content that the government of the day doesn't like. If you DON'T take a stand to put a stop to this, and ALL internet related laws, you will face an extremely dark tomorrow - that will involve the increasing abuse of EVERYONE., Children AND adults. (Note: I fully support prosecuting people who MAKE child porn, or abuse children - these are not acceptable and shouldn't be)

Great firewall of china? no. Ayres Block of australian free speech. Australia thinks its democratic but this shows how draconian we really are.
