Aust to upgrade to the M1A3?
Australia only has 59 M1A1's . Which is well below what we really need. We should have around 3000 main battle tanks.
-The Fortress Aust Outpost think tank reckons.
So lets buy 2000 M1A3's.

M1 uses three times as much fuel as any other deployed MBT! Its logistical tail is a protection nightmare that is a gift for IED and especially EFP.
