MOTORBIKE sales rose 9 per cent last year to a record 129,966 units, the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries (FCAI) said today.

FCAI chief executive Andrew McKellar said improved affordability, high petrol prices and income growth had fuelled the increase.

Honda maintained its market leadership in 2007 with 32,946 sales, followed by Yamaha with 28,998 and Suzuki with 17,255.
