Reason: [When you say that Islam has to be defeated] Don’t you mean defeating radical Islam?
Hirsi Ali: No. Islam, period. Once it’s defeated, it can mutate into something peaceful. It’s very difficult to even talk about peace now. They’re not interested in peace.
Reason: We have to crush the world’s 1.5 billion Muslims under our boot? In concrete terms, what does that mean, “defeat Islam”?
Hirsi Ali: I think that we are at war with Islam. And there’s no middle ground in wars. Islam can be defeated in many ways. For starters, you stop the spread of the ideology itself; at present, there are native Westerners converting to Islam, and they’re the most fanatical sometimes. There is infiltration of Islam in the schools and universities of the West. You stop that. You stop the symbol burning and the effigy burning, and you look them in the eye and flex your muscles and you say, “This is a warning. We won’t accept this anymore.” There comes a moment when you crush your enemy.
Reason: Militarily?
Hirsi Ali: In all forms, and if you don’t do that, then you have to live with the consequence of being crushed.
Reason: Are we really heading toward anything so ominous?
Hirsi Ali: I think that’s where we’re heading. We’re heading there because the West has been in denial for a long time. It did not respond to the signals that were smaller and easier to take care of. Now we have some choices to make. This is a dilemma: Western civilization is a celebration of life—everybody’s life, even your enemy’s life. So how can you be true to that morality and at the same time defend yourself against a very powerful enemy that seeks to destroy you?

Biggest Convert or Die letter EVER
More than 130 Muslim scholars from around the globe called on Thursday for peace and understanding between Islam and Christianity, saying "the very survival of the world itself is perhaps at stake".
In an unprecedented letter to Pope Benedict and other Christian leaders, 138 Muslim scholars said finding common ground between the world's biggest faiths was not simply a matter for polite dialogue between religious leaders.
"If Muslims and Christians are not at peace, the world cannot be at peace. With the terrible weaponry of the modern world; with Muslims and Christians intertwined everywhere as never before, no side can unilaterally win a conflict between more than half of the world's inhabitants," the scholars wrote.
"Our common future is at stake. The very survival of the world itself is perhaps at stake," they wrote, adding that Islam and Christianity already agreed that love of God and neighbor were the two most important commandments of their faiths.
Such a joint letter is unprecedented in Islam, which has no central authority that speaks on behalf of all worshippers.
The list of signatories includes senior figures throughout the Middle East, Asia, Africa, Europe and North America. They represent Sunni, Shi'ite and Sufi schools of Islam.
Among them were the grand muftis of Egypt, Palestine, Oman, Jordan, Syria, Bosnia and Russia and many imams and scholars. War-torn Iraq was represented by both Shi'ites and Sunnis. (more at Reuters)

In Islamic theology the Moslem army has to invite the enemy to convert and embrace Islam before they are allowed to go to war and kill them.
They must first give the infidel the opportunity to convert by the 'Word' and then comes the 'Sword'.
It seems that the steps are now being taken for all out global conflict with Islam, now that the Islamic World has issued a decree signed by 138 of the Worlds most prominent Moslem scholars from every different Islamic sect and issued to the Christian World.

Excuse me if I'm just a bit skeptical about this call for "peace" from Muslim "scholars" supposedly reaching out to Christians.
How about laying down your arms, acknowledging Israel, and stop killing people in the name of your religion?

Yes. That's right Christianity is the same as Islam. Tell me where in the Qu'ran does it say something like "Let him who is without sin cast the first stone"?

Good point there, if they want peace just stop killing us. It's a simple as that, we don't need 138 to waffle around a table and carry on. Those 138 men can start by telling their followers that Infidels are no unworthy and subhuman or something, but are their equals.
In reality we are actually superior to them, but i'll settle for equal, for peace.
