Death to the Taliban

NATO Kills 136 Taliban in Afghanistan

Times of LondonAt least 136 Taliban fighters were killed during two US-led operations against the insurgency in Afghanistan as Britain launched a further campaign today, NATO announced.
In what was reportedly the deadliest fighting in the country since January, US and Afghan army forces claimed to have destroyed seven Taliban positions and killed at least 87 fighters at Herat province yesterday, after receiving a tip-off about Taliban activity in the area's Zerkoh Valley.

The attack, which NATO said was a combined ground and air strike, reportedly lasted 14 hours. The bloodshed enraged local people, with hundreds reportedly gathering in front of the local police station in the Shindand district of Zerkoh Valley chanting "Death to America".
In its statement, NATO added that a further 49 Taliban fighters had been confirmed killed by a further successful ground and air attack nearby, which took place last Friday. No coalition troops were believed to have been killed or injured in either attack.

It's good to see the Coalition sharpening it's claws and biting a bit harder. I think Rules Of Engagement changes have taken place and make all the difference.
